PTSD
- Description
PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a mental disorder which develops after someone goes through an event so traumatic it causes them to often feel like they’re reliving it, even if they’re in a safe environment.
People with this disorder may encounter certain things that trigger their PTSD. Although they may not be related to the trauma, it may still trigger their fight or flight response in order to get themselves from the source of their distress. Veterans and abuse victims are the most susceptible to PTSD, however children and teens can also develop it at a younger age.
